This solution was designed for a long-term Water supply strategy, for power contingency, and for upgraded cable reticulation to overcome existing power constraints. For this farm in the Overberg, we rerouted the main electrical infrastructure by installing long run power cables to bypass the dysfunctional utility supply.
We installed two PV systems; a 20kW Roof Mount Array to reduce the main farm building’s power consumption, and a 25kW Ground Mount Array. The Ground Mount Array was installed to provide power to an 18kW Grundfos RSI inverter (for a Variable Speed Drive) that directly powered the essential water reticulation pump on the farm’s dam.
